A drug dealer who crashed his car into a tree trying to get away from police in Bamber Bridge has been jailed.
Following numerous enquiries by the South Ribble Neighbourhood Policing Team, Spencer Darer-Conroy was spotted driving suspiciously on Station Road on Saturday 2nd August.
When officers from the Road Crime Team signalled for him to stop, he failed to do so, driving off and crashing into a low-level barrier and a tree on Loom Crescent before trying to run away. He was arrested nearby on suspicion of dangerous driving.
A search of a nearby property found 40 wraps of Class A and Class B drugs, along with around £2000 in cash and several mobile phones.
Following consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service. Darer-Conroy was charged with a number of offences including possession of Class A and Class B drugs.
On Monday 1st September, Darer-Conroy, 22, of Langden Crescent, Bamber Bridge, appeared at Preston Crown Court where he pleaded guilty to the charges and was sentenced to five years and seven months in prison.
