Pensioner suffers serious injuries after dog walker attack in Penwortham

Police are asking for help after a man in his 70s was assaulted while walking his dog in Penwortham this week.

They were called around 5pm on Tuesday (8th April) to a report of an assault which happened on parkland near to Margaret Road, Penwortham.

The victim was assaulted by another dog walker, with him suffering a fractured collar bone and facial injuries.

Police would like to speak to the man in the image as part of our enquiries. Although the image isn’t of the highest quality, his yellow t-shirt is distinctive.

He is described as aged between 30 and 40, around 6ft 2, large build, wearing a yellow t-shirt, dark shorts and a baseball cap. He was walking with a very small dog off the lead.

If anyone recognises him, has information as to who it might be, or who witnessed the assault, please contact 101 – quoting log 0988 of 8th April – or email 2643@lancashire.police.uk
