A man has been jailed after stalking a woman in Preston.
In January 2025, Sean Bean breached a restraining order the day after it was issued by driving alongside the victim in Preston, intimidating her and laughing at her.
In the space of three and a half weeks, he drove past her house 37 times.
In a Victim Impact Statement, she told the court: “Sean has turned my life upside down. He has cost me everything. My confidence, my self-esteem, my own self-worth, my mental health, my friends, and nearly my children. I no longer feel safe in my home or anywhere else; I have no freedom, and I feel trapped.”
She ended her statement with: “All I wanted was what everyone else does, a happy, loving family home, and instead, Sean has made my life a living hell.”
Bean, 35, of Westfield Drive, Preston was arrested, and following consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service later charged with Stalking involving Serious Alarm and Distress and Breach of Restraining Order.
He pleaded guilty and was sentenced at Preston Crown Court to 14 months. He was also given an indefinite restraining order.
DC Sasha Smith-Hooke, of Preston CID said: “Bean callously intimidated his victim, knowing he was breaching the restraining order handed to him because of his previous actions.
“He laughed at her, stalked her and made her feel unsafe in her own home. Nobody should be made to feel that way.
“I want to be really clear: we will not tolerate this in Lancashire. If you are committing these crimes we will find out, and we will do all we can to bring you to justice.
“Finally, I want to praise the victim for the strength she has shown in coming forward and throughout proceedings. Despite being made to feel the way she did, she has conducted herself with dignity and strength.”
