Police say an eight-year-old boy suffered a head injury after a school bus hit a bridge in Coppull.
Police were called at just after 12.30pm to a report that a school bus had struck a bridge on Spendmore Lane.
Emergency services attended and all those on board were taken safely off the bus.
Around 30 children were assessed by medical staff and eight were treated by paramedics for minor injuries.
One child, an eight-year-old boy, was taken to hospital with a cut to the head.
The driver and two teachers who were also on board were unhurt.
The road was closed for around three hours while police dealt with the incident and for recovery of the bus, a double decker. It is now reopened.
A spokesperson said: ‘’We would like to thank everyone for their cooperation and support while we dealt with this incident which thankfully did not result in more serious injury.’’
