Blackburn with Darwen Council are looking for as many people as possible to share their views on the future of the iconic Corporation Park conservatory.
Dating back to 1900, the Conservatory at Corporation Park has played a part in many residents’ lives; and there’s no doubt that we would all like to see it restored to its former self.
Last year, they announced that £137,000 had been allocated by the council and Historic England to identify what the options are for the future of the Conservatory. This is the first step in being able to recognise how much work is needed and what it will cost, which will help to write strong funding bids.
As part of this, architect Buttress in partnership with the Council are looking to get your views on the Conservatory.
A spokesperson said: ‘’The restoration of the Conservatory is likely to cost millions of pounds, and although there are no guarantees that the council can secure the necessary investment to restore it, it’s important that we put the work in to try.
‘’There are many options for how the Conservatory could be used in the future, and any proposed new use for the building would need to be sustainable and self sufficient in the long term. But the only way to ensure it’s a true success is to hear what you, the local community thinks.’’
