Lancashire Police are appealing for witnesses and footage following a collision in Penwortham in which a cyclist suffered serious injuries.
Officers were called at 12.52am today (28th March) to Golden Way, Penwortham – near to Liverpool Road - to a report of a road traffic collision involving a Ford C-Max car and a bicycle both travelling in the direction of Preston.
The cyclist, a man in his 40s, suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital.
Golden Way was closed for several hours as part of the investigation and has now reopened.
Sgt Martin Kavanagh of Lancashire Police’s Road Policing Unit, said: “The cyclist suffered serious injuries and our thoughts are with him as he undergoes treatment in hospital.
“If anyone witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage from Golden Way around the time it happened, we ask you to contact police.”
