Blackpool’s indie folk-rock outfit 'Kind Hearted Thieves' have teamed up with celebrated singer-songwriter Frank Turner to release “Sublime”, a powerhouse single available from 20th June 2025 on all streaming platforms.
The track is part of a heartfelt fundraising initiative via GoFundMe, aimed at securing private autism assessments for two children in the UK.
The song draws its emotional force from a personal moment when Jay overheard his daughter saying she “wasn’t good enough.” This prompted him to compose “Sublime” as an uplifting mantra: “I wanted to write something she — or anyone — could repeat when they’re hurting… reminds you that you're not just enough... you're sublime,” he explains.
The track’s debut aligns with the launch of an urgent GoFundMe campaign. The drive seeks to raise enough money for two private autism assessments, vital for children who face extensive waits on the NHS—some up to 2.7 years in areas such as Blackpool.
Data from NHS Digital (March 2024) show that over 212,000 individuals in England are on waiting lists, and 89% exceed the recommended 13-week diagnosis period.
Early diagnosis is crucial. Delays can prevent timely support, contributing to anxiety, confusion and mental health issues in young people. As Jay adds, “We’re aiming to raise enough to fund private assessments for two children — a small step, but one that could change lives…”
